Informed Dissent is a protest legal support project that is maintained by members of the Extinction Rebellion (XR) Legal Support Team. The aim of this project is to support protestors (both XR and not), by providing legal support and information in the hope that we promote the idea of engaging in direct action being aware of the legal consequences.

Green & Black Cross (GBC) is an independent grassroots project founded to provide legal support for protests against the government’s wave of massive spending cuts. We take inspiration from the Anarchist Black Cross and from the diverse skills and infrastructure built up over the last decade by elements of the environmental movement, such as The Camp for Climate Action (Climate Camp).

Liberty is the UK’s largest civil liberties organisation, with over 15,000 members and supporters. They challenge injustice, defends freedom and campaigns to make sure everyone in the UK is treated fairly. They were founded in 1934 in response to brutal police attempts to stop protests during the Hunger Marches and the ‘general and alarming tendency to encroach on the liberty of the citizen’.

Netpol seeks to monitor public order, protest and street policing, and to challenge and resist policing which is excessive, discriminatory or threatens civil rights. We have built an inclusive network of activists, campaigners, lawyers and researchers to create a forum for sharing knowledge, experience and expertise. Through active campaigning, sharing knowledge and building awareness, we aim to effectively challenge policing strategies which are unnecessarily damaging to any sector of our society.

Rebels in Prison Support (RIPS) exists to support peaceful protesters and non-violent activists, making their experience of the prison system as comfortable as possible, for them and their loved ones.

Scottish Community & Activist Legal Project (SCALP) is a collective of activists from social and environmental justice groups in Scotland who are collaborating on community and activist legal support. We attend protests to challenge police abuse , support people in case of arrest, and provide legal information to activists.

Unlock is a charity founded by a group of former prisoners who wanted to use their experience so that people with convictions would have better opportunities to move on in their lives. We work in partnership, and with volunteers, to achieve outcomes at both the individual and systemic level.
